D:  I have been shopping all week looking for things to go with my birthday dress, a black cocktail dress.

GG:  What are you thinking more Kate Hudson or Selma Blair. Do you want me to send you some ideas?

D: I bought a black strapless dress from Steve and Berry’s.   I think it is an SJP dress or Sarah Jessica Parker.

GG:  That’s good as long as it doesn’t look cheap.  I wore a $10 dress from JC Penney’s and got a lot of compliments on it.  It is all about accessories.

D:  It looks cheap

GG: Oh

D: It feels bare I need something to go around my arms like a wrap.

GG: In L.A.?

D: It might get cold

GG: That means you didn’t drink enough.

D: I am thinking a black crochet wrap

GG:  No No No When I hear black crochet wrap I think fringe and glitter.

D: That reminds me. My mom has one from Spain with fringe. I will just borrow hers.  Thanks for reminding me.

So D below are some suggestions for the big 30, and as your date stylist please consider the possibilites of your “magical” night.

So I woke up this morning in a panic.  I feel I need to do more in my GMAT studying.  I have broken up the times to study @ lunch and a couple of hours after work.  Yesterday I thought it was a good day in terms of studying.  I learned a lot.  I am not cramming a lot of information in one day.  Truly taking a day or more on a subject because I want to get it.  I actually declared yesterday a good day, but today I am scared I am not doing well at all.   I keep getting simple mistakes wrong.  I am going to take a practice test I think on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Goodness!  It shouldn’t be this hard should it.

OK I feel better.  I think it was just a panic attack.  It is amazing how much a test just puts the pressure of the world over you.  All I want is for things to be great this time around.   I am tired of the doubts and confidence tweaking.  It is too exhausting, and my energy needs to be put to better use, but how do you change it.

My Aunt came home excited about a great business suit find; the Brooks Brothers Non-Ironed Shirt.  Normally when I think of Brook Brothers I instantly think stuffy and obnoxious, but I also know the classic oxford button down shirt is essential in any wardrobe.  These shirts do not require the high upkeep of dry cleaning.  Simply put it in the washer and dryer and it continuously looks pressed.  With all the meet and greets that occur during business school and the restricted budget students have (i.e. dry cleaning every six months), I think this would be a great investment in preparation for business school. It is a great time to buy because Brooks Brothers is having a 50% off sale today on the shirts that normally retail for $89.95 in stores, but online the price for women  is 2 for $149.99 and for men 3 for $199.

I saw this dressand instantly fell in love with it.  The belt is the perfect accesory to define a waist.  The best thing about the dress, it is on sale at Nordstrom.com.

These shoes by Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Christian Dior, and Chloe can up the WoW factor by offering some color.
